Heelwork is one of the most emotionally bonding exercises you can do with your dog as they learn to mirror or shadow, our movements.
When combined with trick training we can put together exciting rounds to challenge our communication skills. These classes are based on Wag It! Shadow Skills, and teach the dogs to work at heel on both sides, in front and even behind us!
For those with a musical flair these classes could lead to Heelwork to Music (unfortunately I do not have a musical bone in my body, but I love the training!) This is a beginners class so no previous experience is necessary. We will also cover the exercises for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme, though taking the tests is not compulsory.
We will be training the dogs to perform a pattern of movements which will form the ‘Dressage’ element of the Canine Eventing planned at Paws in Wales in 2019.
Class fee: £10 per class or £16 if two classes are booked and paid for in the same week. Maximum of six dogs so advance booking is necessary please.
