As a member of the Association of British Canine Dressage I am excited to bring this new sport to Paws in Wales.

Developed by Kay Laurence of Wagmore, “the purpose of training for dressage is to develop the individual dog’s natural movement and athleticism for their long term benefit…and soundness” through exercises aimed at enhancing each dog’s natural paces, improving their balance, core strength and suppleness.
It is not an esoteric activity for high class dogs – it is accessible to dogs of all breeds, ages and abilities, and is not physically demanding for the owner.
It is a thoughtful and relaxing way of spending quality time with your dog, with the benefit of improving their physique for lifelong mobility.

As with equine dressage, owners may choose to work towards prescribed ‘tests’ requiring the dogs to perform movements in a particular order. Dogs can progress through various levels, and their performance is assessed by a judge who awards points based on the abilities of that individual dog, so it is a very inclusive sport as dogs are not judged against each other.

This workshop can be booked alone or in conjunction with Competitive Obedience in the morning.

£24 per workshop, which includes 20% discount to celebrate the opening of Paws in Wales purpose built training barn.
